C2 Master Brake Cylinder Numbers

Hello Everyone:

Need some help regarding the numbers on my '66 manual brake master cylinder. The number 2225032 appears on the underside of the master cylinder which I believe to be correct. It is followed by what looks like 3 digits, ? a R or a B and then a 5.

On the underside (LH side) were the cap clip snaps into place there is another cast number, 1 or I then a 03. (HArd to read backwards in a mirror)

It the later two series of numbers I would like some help with.

The markings on my '65 standard m/c are similiar to yours. I'm not sure what the significance of the numbers in the first part of your question is, but the R or B may be a Bendix logo.

As to the numbers "103", I have been told that this is a julian day. This jives for the "239" on the bottom of my m/c, as the julian day converts to August 27, and the production date of my car is approximately September 4, 1964. Sources of information indicate that no '65-'66 m/c has ever been seen with a number here of greater than 365.

Julian day of your m/c, if my advice is correct, would be April 13 if 1966 was a non-leap year, or April 12 if it was.
