This does not make sense... A few years ago when I got my car (69) both door "S" springs were missing. I bought a pair at the Orlando Jan. meet but I don't remember whose they were. Anyway... the passenger's side installed easy and the rollers worked smooth but the drivers side spring kept jumping out at the top. That was two years ago. I thought someting was wrong with the rollers and just put up with the door closing on my leg..... A week or so ago Someone sent me a used hinge complete with the original "S" spring. Today I got to looking at the spring and it was apparent that the notch in the top was 90 deg. to the original. So... there would have be a left and right hand spring. I istalled the original used spring and it worked perfect. ALL of the suppliers catalogues that I have only show one part#. No L/R's The spring pictured on the last details web site is exactly like the original Left side((notch facing up with S backwards) but they only list one.. The replacement spring has the notch on the front side of the "S" What's the story???
C-3 door spring ?

Re: C-3 door spring ?
Original springs had one notch and were LH and RH. The replacements have a notch on both sides and can be used on RH or LH. If your are a judge in need of a deduction for that 100% car this might be a good place to take a look.Lyle

Re: C-3 door spring ?
If it is notched only one side it should only be correct for one side. In the after market they notched both sides to make them work on both sides. I think you said you bought 2 that were notched on one side in the begining and if they were notched the same they were both for the same side.Lyle

Re: C-3 door spring ?
I bought a pair.. The passengers side is correc with the single notch facing the center of the car as installed. The other replacement spring has the notch facing forward which would install the same on either side but cannot possibly work due to the notch being 90 degrees out of rotation.- Top
