I'd like to think the 58/60 Manual would cover when they changed the hood to accomodate the top tank rad. My manual is out of reach at this moment. Sorry.

Yes--on the underside of the hood, on the leading edge (down, when the hood is open), the 59 reinforcement is flat, the 60 is stepped.

Dennis,
Surprisingly the JG did not mention this change! My June 59 has the early style hood and my January 60 has the later style hood. Joe, The easy way to spot them if you are unsure is that the eariler style hood had about an 8 inch notch in the front reinforcement while the 60 had a solid reinforcement.
