    Mysterious number on C2 underbody

I found a BIG number (32) written on the passenger side underbody on the fiberglass. This number is about 18" in size and I never noticed it until I washed all the dirt off the fiberglass (used Dawn soap works great) This is located on the a slanted portion of fiberglass just below the firewall before it becomes the flat floor. Does anyone know what this number means? It is a white marking and hand written. My car is a 1965 black coupe built in Dec. 1964.
    Thanks Jim

I've always referred to the # as Job Number. They ran from 1 to 999 then started over again. they are also sometimes found wax penciled on the doors behind the door panels and sometimes on the rear side of the partition between gas tank and cockpit. Saw a 67 tank sticker that had the job # crayoned on the tank sticker and the pass side floor pan where yours is located,. mike

Almost all 67s had the job # penciled on the tank sticker.

Brian - if I recall from my class in Bloomington from Al Grenning, the job numbers reset so there will be multiples. I think they went to 1000 and then reset for the next batch, so, there would be many repeats in a given year. The ideas was to not have multiples going through the line at the same time....my 67 is job 254....Craig
