Can anyone supply me with a picture of an original stock steel wheel for a 1966 coupe? E-mail would be great. I seem to have 2 different styles on the car and was wondering if either style is the original. I have owned the car since 1977 so, maybe one is correct. It was a June 1, 1966 built car if that makes any difference.

Re: C2 - stock wheel
Hi Steve:
My '66 factory stock steel rims are 15" x 5-1/2". Inside markings (with tire removed to see them) are 15 x 5 1/2 JK. There should also be a Kelsey Hayes logo stamp and a Made in USA stamp. In addition you ca find a month & year stamp, I can e-mail you a picture of the stamps if you want them, just e-mail me.
Best regards,
Kurt- Top

One real key for the original rims is the lack of any "nubs" on the center for a dog dish" hubcapBill Clupper #618- Top

Re: C2 - stock wheel
Kurt, I have a spare wheel for my -66 Coupe which has no markings at the valve stem sides on the outside. I have not removed the tire to check the inner markings yet. Could this be an original -66 steel rim? Are there no markings on the outside that would indicate a original -66 rim?

Hayden:
The steel rims I have have the letters "GM" stamped near one of the wheel stud holes. In addition as earlier mentioned look for the lack of the bump on the rim around the wheel studs that would be used to hold dog dish caps in place.
To know for sure it would be best to see the markings on the inside of the rim.
Good luck...- Top

Re: C2 - stock wheel
Kurt,
Thanks for the quick reply. So it looks like I have an original rim, at least from the look of the outside. From what I understand, the use of markings at both sides of the valve stem started from -67 and up.
