Who carries the best fit gasket that goes between the carb and the intake? I've seen ones at Zip for like $5 and Doc Rebuild for $20. This would be going on an LT-1. Thanks!

The gasket used for 1972 LT-1 was an insulating type gasket and was unique to the 1972 model year for LT-1s. It was of GM #3999259, but it's discontinued. It was expensive even when it was still available from GM. You may have spec'd out the wrong gasket in the Zip catalog; I can't imagine that they're selling the correct insulating gasket for $5. Dr. Rebuild's carb gaskets are usually equal to or better than anything else on the market. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

This is the one at Zip, there is a pic of it in the catalog, not the web.

Re: 72 carb gasket

Since the Zip catalog lists 1964-72 application, I feel pretty confident that they are talking about just a plain gasket. There were no THICK insulator gaskets used for 64-69. These type gaskets were first utilized during the era of EEC emmisions control. There was no Holley carb "one-size-fits-all" carb-to-manifold gasket utilized during the 64-72 period as the Zip part implies. Might be faulty research. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
