    C1 & C2 Sun Visor Attaching Hardware

What is the correct description of the sun visor attaching hardware for the C1 and C2 applications? I have what looks like several different versions. Some have a blunt end with a slight offset, some have a tapered end with larger offset, some have different lengths and some have different shapes at the end where the attaching screw passes through it.

The offset I am descibing is the distance from the windshield frame to the rod that is inserted into the visor.when attached to the frame. Current reproductions are long with a tapered end and a round tip at the end where the screw passes though it into the w'shield frame.

Looking at the C1 visors compared to the C2 visors, it looks like the early visors may have needed more room to rotate, but ? Any help? I am trying to getthe appropriate parts for my 60 and 67, as well as assist a friend with his 62.

We recently purchased a kit from one of the major suppliers - the new hardware will not go all of the way into the C1 visor and the old hardware with a smaller offset will not allow the C1 visor to rotate when installed! Where are we going wrong? I hope I haven't confused you with this description.

    David...

In 59-60, sunvisors were an option, but became standard in 61-62. They have a slight shoulder where the eyelet pin enters in the visor. On new visors you may have to wrap this pin to protect it from damage, place it in a vise and insert into the visor by pushing and twisting at the same time. Some pins will go in easier than others. Do not tighten the special screw until after you have aligned the eyelet and mounted to the windowshield frame. I believe the special nut is on the hood/engine side of the car with the visor in a down position. If you purchased your visor/hardware from Al Knoch, it is correct. Also CC has a special screw driver for this slotted nut, I never used it, but its good to know. As for your C2, I pass.
