I picked up what I think is a 62 Corvette jack at a flee-market this weekend. It looks exactly like the jack pictured on page 354 0f Noland's Vol.1. This jack has the course thread screw, stamped steel base with a capital "A" stamped into the top surface of the base. Is there any poss. of this being a Corvair jack or belonging to any vehicle other than a 1962 Corvette?

Re: 1962 jack
Unlike the 53-61 jac, which was also made by Ausco, the 62 jack has not been identified as used in anything other than a 62. The 53-61 was an over the counter jack through several different parts houses. the 62 jack was really "cheapened up" by GM, in that the stamped base plate was merely spot-welded to one of the lifteing saddles, and often, if the car shifted sideways while on the jack, would pop the welds and leave you with a broken jack. There are probably plenty of us who would help you double your money on your swap-meet jack!
