Considering replacing the main gas line that runs from the tank to almost the fuel pump on my '62. Trying to figure out how it's done. Just spent a fair amount of time on the creeper with the new one in one hand and scratching my head with the other. Don't want to remove the old one, until I know how (and if) I can get the new one in. Gating item seems to be the front body mount where the line passes through the cutout in the bracket next to the frame.
1. Is the line threaded through the body mount from the front or the rear?
2. How high to you have to get the car off the ground to allow the line to be manuevered around?
3. I believe the line passes under the battery tray and above the battery tray mounting legs. Is this correct? Does the battery tray have to come off?
4. My battery tray asembly needs replacement soon. Would it be better to wait until I have the battery tray off?
