I'm having fits with my '62. I've checked all grounds (as far as I know) and still have left front turn/park lamp that's dimmer than right. No brake lights (but do have tail lights), temp. gauge doesn't move when first started (but after few minutes...slowly moves to far right and stays there w/new temp sender). I have amp gauge wired w/Red & Pink wires on passenger side terminal. Fuel gauge doesn't read (even with full tank). Dome light won't come on unless door switch is pressed in/out and seems to work with switch partially in. Just finished body on restoration with new 350ci driver engine (original 327/340hp is awaiting rebuild) and I installed MSD Tach drive dist (w/ignitor box & MSD coil) w/single wire alternator for driving purposes. What am I missing?

Re: C-1 Electrical "AGAIN"
Don...
First, have a wiring diagram for your car, Next; check out the following.
The red & pink wires should be next to the steering column (the AIM is not correct, the wiring diagram is)The black Bat. Wire to the passenger side of the ammeter. Check out the black/white strip wire that should be grounded to your valve cover. On the Temp. gauge, drk. blue to left terminal (looking up from under & back of the gauge)coming from the engine; pink wire on the right going to the junction. On the fuel gauge, left terminal is brown going to the tank thru a connector,(check the connector) pink on the right to the ignition switch. Note: A good ground from the tank to frame is not in the book, but fixes a lot of problems. Join the club of those that have spent time under a C-1 dash- Top

Dennis:
I have been following this issue for some time. I just got my 61 guage cluster back from rebuild. when it went out, the capicitor was on the drivers side terminal of the AMP guage along with the black lead, the four reds were on the pass side. When it came back, the capicitor was moved to the pass side. All was working before, I am just putting it back together now. Bottom line: black lead and capicitor end on one terminal and the four reds on the other if needle moves in the right direction, leave it; if not, swap sides. Is this basically it???- Top
