    C2 1964 Door panels

Can anyone describe to me the difference between a coupe and convertible door panel? Can they be interchanged, can you tell them apart?

The upper rear end of the coupe door panel has a curved cutout that fits around the rear coupe door frame. This area is straight on a convertible panel. I suppose that you could use a coupe panel on a convertible but it would be noticable. I don't think it would work the other way around though.

Rick, If you were trying to use a perfect set of original door panels from a coupe on a convertible, could you pull back the vinyl, and weld a piece of steel to replace the cutout, then reglue the vinyl assuming there was enough left, or are the window felts and rubber wipers also affected?
