After being apart for several years I'm ready to put the headlights back in my 65. My problem is the Y shaped stop doesn't seem to want to go where the AIM calls for. When I line up the tick mark on the Y and the flat in the groved shaft it's in a very wrong position.I've flipped it around and over, no fit. It almost looks like the inner support is oriented wrong. I thought these inner supports would only go in one way. If the bolts on the inner support only line up one way with the support then something else is off. I really don't want to take this apart again for practice. Does someone have an E picture they can send on how this is supposed to look. HELP Please

I think that the pivots will actually bolt up on either side. You need to make sure that you have them on the correct sides. One has provisions for the Adjustment screw and the other doesn`t.- Top

Re: Help Please need Ephoto of headlight area
Jerry, If the pivots are installed on their correct sides, there are only two possible combinations for the Y stop. That is flipping it over and reinstalling. If that doesnt work, you have a major problem. Look on the shaft of the pivot. You will find splines that match the ones on the Y stop. The stop splines should match up. It is OK to move them one way or the other, but they should always overlap some spline. Once you are in the ballpark, you adjust the bolts to get it exactly where you want it.- Top
