Part Number Question Mid-Year A-Arm Shaft

I am looking for an upper a-arm control shaft for my 65 roadster. Some of you may have seen my posts about a month ago about an offset shaft. The shaft I now believe was just an aftermarket replacement that has an offset look to it.
The part number on my other shaft is "3820483 GM22", I think this is an original but am not sure. This past weekend at a car show/swap meet I looked at 3 different shafts, one was in an a-arm and none of them had any part numbers at all.
Can anyone tell me what is correct for my car?

    Thanks in advance,

    George #36809

Re: Part Number Question Mid-Year A-Arm Shaft

There were at laest two different designs used in '63-67, the first design which is seen predominently (but not exclusively) in the '63-65 cars is a square bat in the area between the mounting bolts. i believe this is the one that carries a part number. There is also a second design used that has a round shaft between the mounting bolts. I don't think that one has a part number. If you are looking for a Bar, carr Bair's in Linesville PA at (814) 693-4223 and ask for Brian. They do a LOT of suspension rebuilds for major vendors and I'm sure they can help you out.

      Bill,

That answers the question perfectly. The one I have is a square bar design between the mounting holes. The ones I saw this weekend were more rounded. I will keep up the search.

      Thanks very much,

      George
