The hood which you sent me pictures of is an original 68-69 Corvette hood. Unfortunately, the picture of the rear of the hood didn't show the most important area for identification----the hood latch attachment area and the upper hood edge reinforcing beam.
However, here's the deal: 1968 through later 1969 (before approximately October, 1969) use hoods which are interchangeable. For these hoods, all of the hood hardware will interchange and the upper latches will be compatible with the lower latches used for the above period.
From about October, 1969 through 1972, the configuration of the hood latches changed. The left side upper latch will interchange among all 68-82 PROVIDING that the lower lock bolt is the appropriate one for the upper. 68- Ocober, 1969 used TULIP shaped lock bolts; October, 1969 through 1972 used CONE shaped lock bolts.
I am not sure if the right side upper latch will interchange, or not. It might not fit the hood mounting bolt pattern. I've been meaning to check on this, but I haven't got around to it.
Now, back to the hood, itself: if the top edge reinforcing rail has TWO hood cross cable retainer mounting points (which will be evidenced by TWO holes with rivets on either side which retain the nut plate), then this is the 1968 through October, 1969 style hood. This is used with the early style upper hood latches and TULIP-shaped lower lock bolts. If there is ONE cross cable retainer mounting hole, then you have the late 69 through 72 style hood.
You need to match the hood and hardware to what you've got on the car now.
Now, while it's very likely that this is a correct hood for your car, that DOES NOT MEAN that you can just bolt it on. You will have to fit the hood to the opening on your particular car and some slight sanding of the hood edges may be required.
If you can't determine the vintage of the hood using the ONE hole----TWO hole cross cable configuration that I've described above, then send a picture of the TOP of the underside of the hood. If you're uncertain about the lower latches, send a picture of what you've got and the build date (or serial number) of the car.
