    C1 rear axle bearings,brakes

I just had my 62 out for its first trip out since fixing leaks, seems all the rubber stuff has gone bad of is going,But all leaks are gone ,and I put new axle bearings in after redoing the brakes found 90w running down inside the left
rear tire last year,so this year on my test drive it locks up one or the other rear tire,I pulled all the tires ,no leaks,Do you think the rear brake shoes need replaced after having all the brake fluid and axle grease on or in them, they seem dry and stop good, but after the car sits they are grabby again till you ride the brake a bit and then fine till the cars sits.I've had the tires off and on 6 times at least and its all dry but ther is dark stains on the brake shoes.
Ever had this. Did the shoes absorb the axle grease?

Yes, they likely did absorb the gear oil and they may be ruined. I'd probably just replace them. However, you can try repeated applications of Brake Clean solvent to try to salvage them. Apply the solvent from a spray can; let it remain on the pads for several seconds and wipe dry. Then, repeat the process several times.

I have also scuffed the linings with coarse sandpaper to remove the glaze and expose new material to the brake solvent. Liberally rinse them to get any sand paper particles out of the shoe.

I'd just replace the shoes (on both sides) - they're inexpensive; grease-contaminated brake shoes aren't a good thing.
