Can the original wheels with Coker radials be balanced with the wheel weights on the back of the wheels on my '56

Rear wheels, no problem, you can't detect. Front wheels, could be problematic. It really depends on the amount of weight necessary. If a lot is required to balance the front tires, I would strongly suggest splitting the amount between inside and outside on the front wheels.

you could balance wheels inner and outer with adhesive backed weights that would be hidden by the hubcaps. just hope the judges don't ask for hubcap removal and use orig type Ounce designated lead weights for the spare. ALWAYS FUN TO PULL ON OVER ON THE JUDGES, ESPECIALLY SO IF YOUR C1 IS A 61-62 VET AS THAT TEAM LEADER DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE. GOOD LUCK, MIKE

Hi Steve -
I have the original wheels with Cokers on my '57, and they're balanced on the back. Works fine.

I just put Dayton WW radials on my 56 with stick on weights on the back. The balance is fine and the radials are a BIG improvement over the bias ply tires! I am sorry that I waited so long to switch.
