    Crossmember painting....differential support

I am planning to paint my differential mount crossmember tomorrow that attaches to the two sombrero mounts. I have new GM cushions to install as well, was the crossmember painted, then the rubber cushions installed and the ears bent over, or, were they assembled first then painted? I was thinking a little paint in the "holes" for the cushions may reduce future corrosion (not that the car will ever see a day driven in the wet again)....thx!....Craig

With 78 hits and no feelers, I guess I will paint the crossmember and then assemble the cushions, I can always paint the cushion steel areas afterwards...but any insight is welcome!..thx, Craig
