    Stainless Steel Brake Supplier

I need to either replace the calipers on my `78 Pace Car, or have them machined and sleeved with stainless steel. The car only has 5700 miles on it, so I would prefer to keep my original calipers. Is there a stainless brake supplier that will sleeve and return to the customer, his own calipers?

    Bill,

Many of the larger companies will do this for you for a small additional fee. I have always had good luck with Vette Brakes in Florida. They then hide their serial numbers so that the judges can't see them. Make sure to let them know that you want them done in flat black to NCRS specs.

You may want to consider having them use their O-ring piston system. According to them, these seals do not dry out in the same way that normal caliper seals do, and they recommend them for seldom-driven or even prolonged-storage vehicles. I've got the O-rings on my two, but have only had them for a short time, so can't tell you the long-term benefits.
