Re: j-56 brakes question
John------
The caliper assemblies used for 1967 through 1969 J-56 applications are exactly the same, including the pistons/insulators. Very early 1967 J-56 MAY have used the 65-66 style caliper assemblies. For 1965-66 and, possibly, very early 1967, the caliper assemblies, including 1st design-style pistons/insulators, for J-56 and non-J-56 brakes were the same.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: j-56 brakes question
Doug-----
That surprises me. However, it's very possible that the 1967 2nd design J-56 caliper assemblies were not available as early in the 1967 model year as the non-J-56 2nd design calipers. I don't think that non-J-56 used the 1st design design calipers for very long, at all, into the 1967 model year. Also, GM may have used the 1967 J-56 applications to use-up any inventory of 1st design calipers. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
