68 L79 Fuel line to feed fuel pump

This may sound like a silly question , but I learned last night that the hose that goes from the fule line to the bottom of the fuel pump is just regular 3/8 inside diameter fule line.
My question is: What is the correct way to route this line without kinking the hose? The fuel pump inlet is considerably lower thatn the line that feeds it fwhich is mounted on the frame rail.
Is it a straight run or is it spiral or what? If anyone could send me a digital picture that would help a great deal.
Also, is it attached with tower clamps or pinch clamps?

First of all, what fuel pump are you using?

Second, the original fuel line between the frame line and the pump was a molded hose which was never available from GM as a SERVICE part. Dr. Rebuild used to carry these in reproduction but I don't know if he still carries the 68-69 style hose anymore, or not. As usual, Dr. Rebuild actually carries stuff which you could NEVER even get from GM. If you can't get the molded hoses, you can usually make thick-wall rubber fuel line work with kinking.

Third, the hose clamps were of the expandable, flat type and were originally dyed green. Tower-style clamps or screw style hose clamps were not originally used for the fuel line connections.
