Well the clutch assembly is together and I have no adjustments at the firewall rod..where it conncects to the cross shaft... Do I have the wrong throwout bearing, the rod is adjusted out to the end.

Re: C2 - 1964 - Clutch adjustments
You might have the wrong throw out bearing. I bought a 66 L79 that had a homemade clutch rod and I thought nothing of it until I tried to put the right one in...no fit. There are apparently 2 T.O. bearings that will fit, but only one works. Changed mine when the tranny came out for other reasons. Sorry I do not have part numbers, but I'm sure some one else will have them.

Re: C2 - 1964 - Clutch adjustments
Corvettes use the 1-1/4" long throwout bearing (not the 1-3/4" bearing used on passenger cars); however, if you had the incorrect "long" bearing, it would give you MORE available adjustment at the pedal pushrod-to-cross shaft attachment, not less. Are you sure you have the correct bent-finger diaphragm clutch, 1-1/4" throwout bearing, clutch fork, cross shaft, and upper and lower pushrods? This system works very well, with plenty of available adjustment, if all the parts are properly matched.- Top
