What is the correct belhousing for a 64 365HP? Thanks Dennis

For 1964, it could have been one of 2 bellhousings. Most likely, it was a GM #3858403. Alternatively, it could have been a GM #3840383. Both of these bellhousings were used interchangeably during the 1964 model year, but I think that the "403" probably predominated. I don't think that engine RPO affected the utilization, at all. These bellhousings are nearly identical. The only difference are upper bosses or lack thereof on one or both sides which were used for non-Corvette applications (Chevy II, I think). As far as a Corvette goes, either bellhousing could be used and, for 1964, both were used.
