    69 restoration questions

-the 2 thermostat bolts on the intake should have what head mark?
-the 1 bolt on the distributor hold down should have what head mark?
-the throttle linkages for front and rear carbs, which linkage goes where? short or long?
    - and looking at the Paragon book they state that a small tang is used to hold the spring for throttle return , i do not have this , but the bracket thsat holds throotle cable does have a hole in it . Am i missing the tang or did this early 69 just use the hole provided on the bracket ?
    - the door ajar switch, rivets ,the one adjacent to the quarters, was this bracket installed before paint or after?

I will look at my 69 tomorrow and give you the answer to the head marking questions you asked. I can't help you with the carb/spring/bracket questions since my car is a smal block. The fasteners are all original so I can help you there.

The thermostat bolts will likely be different for Big Block and Small Block, and there is a chance that the distributor hold down bolt may have a different headmark as well. Best to look at like engines, and a lot of them, for headmarks.
There may have been many headmarks used in the same application. Chevrolet put their fasteners out for bid, and the supplier changed from time to time. The best you will get is a list of several likely headmarks for each position. This has been covered here in other threads in the past.

Send me an email if you have any specific questions on your car and I'll take a look at mine. I have a very late 69 435hp convertible, which might or might not be helpful to you. As far as references, try the Judging manual for 68-69, I've found it to be very helpful in reserching my car. The carb springs are different depending on when your car was build, the manual explains it very well. Also, I've found Paragon to be a good resource when it comes to bolt patterns. Take a look at their website.
