    1962 Gas Tank

First, thanks for all the info so far, it's great belonging to an organization that has members who are willing to help us novices. Now, I'm looking for best place to purchase gas tank. are used ones worth the savings? Are the new ones of good quality?
    Thanks Again

    Terry-----

I would not recommend using a used fuel tank. These things can be repaired and sealed, of course, but I wouldn't use one. When it's time for fuel tank replacement, I recommend getting a new one. Fuel tanks are an important safety item and it's just not worth compromising safety.

The fuel tanks available on the market today are of very high quality---equal to or better than the originals. Keep in mind that fuel tanks are an item with very high product liability consequences. Even if a manufacturer wanted to "cut corners", I doubt that their product liability insurer would allow it.

I think that most of the Corvette fuel tanks on the market today are made by Superior Industries. I'm not certain of this, but I think so. These folks are a very large manufacturer of fuel tanks for both the OEM and aftermarket. I would have absolute confidence in their products. They are a manufacturer only and do not sell to the public, but many places carry their product.
