I've hit a snag while working on my top. It concerns where the canvass staples onto the body bow. On the inside there are two flaps of material at the bottom edge one is fairly rigid and the other is the black material that makes up the inside of the top cover. If I attempt to lay the body bow with both these flaps located on the tack strip the bow seems to show its contours through the canvass. So I proceeded to have the rigid flap on the outside edge of the bow and the black flap I stapled to the tack strip. The problem now is that with the top almost finished the tension is pulling the bead of the top away from the body and showing about half an inch of the weatherstrip around the window strap area. Did I make a mistake by only stapling the black flap?! I hope not but thanks for your responses even if they are bad news.
