    C2-jack and handle

As I posted earlier, I recently got a restored jack and handle from a 67 big block. It is perfect, and matches all the details described in the 67 judging manual. What is the difference between a quality repro jack and an original? Can one be told from the other?

    Re: C2-jack and handle

I have both my original and the current "A" repro. I noticed that the drive nut on the current "A" repro is incorrect as it is a double beveled standard threaded nut whose inner thread was drilled to slide over the screw shaft and then fitted with a tention pin. Originals have one beveled side only (faces away from the jack), and are of a harder steel and never were threaded. Also, I believe the the guage of the foot may be slighty lighter but I'd have to check to be certain.
