What is the best product to use to clean the carb? I heared the dealers use a chemical called 44k from BG. I hear it is made for shops and you are supposed to suck it up from a vacume source on the car the let it sit for 30 minutes then run the car at full throttle and it will burn the carbon out. Does anyone know anything about this? If it works maybe i could buy some from the dealer.

Re: Carb cleaner
My personal favorite....Berrymans Brake (not carb) cleaner. Cleans fast, dries fast, no residue, cleans better than carb cleaner to boot....used it for years.....If you are talking cleaning a dismantled carb, that is different, I use Berryman's Chem-Dip Carb cleaner.....TRULY NASTY stuff....keep it off your hands if you want to come in the house and not have your wife complain you smell....(left that one wide open!)....Craig- Top

Re: Carb cleaner
Craig, Yes i was talking about the carb on the car not disasembled. I did buy that 44k and i put it in my iroc-z last night and it put out a smoke cloud that you could hardly see through ( good thing nobody was driving by the would have had to stop )when it was in idle sucking it in the vacumew line. I let it sit for 30 minutes then drove it around and got on it and it smoke a little the first couple times i floored it. I did notice a difference in it. It has a smoother idle and this morning it did'nt stall out when i first started it ( since it was about high 30's this morning ). I am going to put it in the vette next ( that should smoke even more since it is has never been rebuilt ). Thanks Eric- Top
