We are needing the washer pump and solenoid assembly for our 69 wiper motor. We need the complete assembly that goes on the drivers side. Anyone know of a distributor that carries this? Thanks in advance for any help. Frank & Paula Lowery. #28045.

The washer pump assembly is easy. That part is still available from GM. The configuration of it is somewaht different, but you can use the pieces out of it to rebuild your old pump (if you have one). Otherwise you can use it as-is and it will be fully functional. Current pumps use a black nylon or Delrin piston and cover assembly which is different than the off-white used for original pumps. As far as the cover is concerned (the part with the 3 nipples on it), you can obtain a near-perfect white unit, as-original, in the "Help!" parts section of your discount auto supply store. The whitish piston assembly (the part that the cover attaches to with 4 screws) is NOT available from any aftermarket source I am familiar with. Even the black piston assembly used on current pumps is not available from GM as a seperate part anymore; you have to get one with the pump assembly.
The solenoid mounted on the driver's side of 1969-only pumps is a whole 'nuther matter. That part was discontinued by GM a "zillion" years ago and is not reproduced. Component parts of it have never been available from GM or anyone else. For one of these, you need to locate a good used example. It will be very difficult to find and, likely, expensive when/if you do find it. I have NEVER seen an NOS example of this part for sale in 20+ years. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
