    56 distributor vacuum line fittings

I purchased a 1110847, vacuum advance, single point, distributor this morning on eBay to install in my 1X4 56. Need help in identifying and locating a supplier for the vacuum advance fittings/lines that attach to the vacuum advance canister with the threaded hole and the carb. I'm assuming that the rear port is where the line goes. Also which cap and rotor should I get? Thanks again for your help.

A correct 56 single four barrel Corvette should have a 1110879 distributor, which has no vacuum advance mechanism. This distributor is a dual point, full mechanical advance unit. The passenger cars and trucks used the 1110847 distributor.

Edward, I guess I screwed up again. I've got quite a collection of stuff in the basement I can't use because I didn't do my homework first. I was going by the ST-12 that showed the 1110847 as the correct distributor for the 56. I assumed it was for the 1X2 as I knew the 2X4 used the dual point, even though it's not listed in the ST-12. I think I will try it out (since I bought it) and see if the vacuum advance makes any difference in around town, low RPM, stop & start, driving. Otherwise, I'll add it to my collection and sell it on eBay one day(at a loss with my luck).

There is a 1110879 distributor on Ebay right now. Item number is 2412442422. They show up on Ebay from time to time. Good luck on your car.

          Joe,
The fourth edition of the 1956/7 Judging manual does include three vacuum advance distrubor numbers. Unfortunately 847 is not one of them. The 847 is very close and the major difference is the tag. For some unknown reason the vacuum advance distributors had been taken out of the last couple of editions. The line attachs to the front passenger side port on the base of the Carb. You could make the line yourself. 1110866, 1110869, 1110878 are the listed numbers for '56 210 hp. I hope this helps.
