This sounds like the $10.00 dip stick that sold for $500.00 to some "dip stick" a few months ago on EBay. I hope DOC doesn't get any ideas! Restoration cost are high enough.

Actually, I hope Woody does sell on Ebay, then he can clean up so much there that for those of us true enthusiasts he can drop his catalog prices!..I think he had a foray onto Ebay a while back, not sure it came out well...Craig

If you read DOC's catalog, prices only go up. He keeps the prices in the catalog low to be competitive. With the EBay selling prices going up it can't be good news for the rest of us. The problem is vendors won't sell at swap meets or the like. After all why should they if they can get the crazy prices from an EBay customer. :-)

Boy I wish we still had self-service wrecking yards in Upstate NY. I could use one of those coils for $10.00 The state put all the wrecking yards out of business.

Don't hold your breath.... Even if you had access to a u-pull parts yard, I doubt you'll find a correct/original BR-270 coil there!

I've walked the high country yards of the Rocky Mtns for about 10-years and found a '270 coil ONCE. It was under the hood of a '57 Chevy passenger car with a put-together 327 replacement engine. You'll find oddles of BR-263 coils in equivalent Chevy passenger cars from the period, but my take is you'll walk the soles off your shoes looking for that Corvette BR-270 part....
