I have bought a wiper arm removal tool from Zip products, but have no earthly idea how it works. I see the keeper lock arms that snap into place under the drive hub but can't figure out how to use the tool to pull them back to provide clearance to remove the arm. Any help would be appreciated. Feeling pretty stupid at the moment.
There are a few variations on the removal tool and it's not clear which mfgr/style tool was provided from Zip.... But, these tools are essentially 2-piece devices with one piece being the main lever and the second being the hub locking arm. You move the hub locking arm to engage the bottom side of the wiper arm hub. Then, lay the main lever arm GENTLY across the top of the wiper arm hub in the direction of the main wiper arm (some are padded so they don't scratch the chrome plate on the wiper arm hub).
Now, with the lever arm resting on the hub, gently rock the tool AND the wiper arm while pulling upwards. The snap clip in the base of the wiper arm's hub should release from the base of the wiper drive shaft and the arm and tool will 'pop' up/off towards you.
