Removing the vent from the diff. cover

Is there an easy or right way to remove and reinstall the vent from a differential cover.

It's a very light interference fit in the cover. You simply pull it off by holding it from the tube portion (not the cap). To reinstall, simply tap it in lightly.

Just wanted to make sure, with the way my luck has been going it break off and then I would relize there was a trick such as push then twist, or say the majic word first.
