1972 Vent Knobs

Alright, here's one that should be easy for somebody:

I need to remove the nice little round black VENT knobs from my center console on my 72 w/o AC. I believe that they have Allen screws holding them in from below. My question is, what size? I tried several sizes yesterday without success. I'd like to try the correct size and eliminate that as my problem.

The allen size is 1/16".

Tried that too, but I'll try again. At least I won't spend time with other sizes.

Patrick The threads get striped in those knobs making them not back out as they should. I have retaped them to a larger size to keep the original knob. The angle of the set screw is hard to tell when you can't see it. Lyle
