dealer code , HELP???

I have located a 72 silver convertible LT-1, 4 sp M-20, 3:70 posi with Tank Sticker. ZONE is 01, DEALER IS #180. Nothing shows in the data base for dealer codes. Terry McMannon says Flint, Michigan???? Any one else have a clue?

Car has been in Northern California for years. Vin # 8968. ONE OF 300 SILVER CONVERTIBLE AND 405 CONVERTIBLE LT-1'S.

You might want to call Applegate Chevrolet in Flint Michigan, if Terry suspects that town. They have been in business since the 60's there and sold a lot of cars to students of GMI. A student could have then been assigned out in Fremont.

The 1995 story in The Corvette Restorer says zone 01 is Flint ZONE. The dealer could be in Flint or anyplace else that zone extended to.

Thanks to all. I have received a few private mails that both agree. 01 is Michigan, and 180 is in the upper pennsiula in the Saginaw area. The given car made it's way to Northern California in the mid 70's so the chassis is in pretty good shape.

Take a look at a Michigan map. Last time I looked Saginaw was in the lower peninsula.
