I am getting ready to switch insurance companies and would like to know if anyone can recommend Hagerty Insurance Co. Thanks

Re: Hagerty Insurance
Don, I don't have Hagerty Insurance for my Corvette, but I have had them insure my Antique Boat (1939 Chris Craft) for 20+ years, which is harder to insure than a Corvette and they have been excellent to deal with. The rates have hardly gone up in all there years.
I don't have them for the Corvette, because I get a very good rate from my AAA agent which is hard for any other Insurance co to beat.

I've always had my Corvettes insured with AAA, too, on my regular policy. For a regularly driven, non-classic Corvette I think that this is the way to go. However, I'm seriously considering changing the coverage for my 69 when it's back on the road (I just have it covered for comprehensive while it's sitting in the garage). That's because main-line insurance companies usually don't write stated value or agreed value policies. For a classic Corvette, an agreed value policy is really a must. With this type of policy, the haggling over what the car is worth occurs at the time that the policy is written, not at the time that a total loss occurs. With regular insurance, the haggling begins only when the loss occurs. At that point, the insurance company is in the "driver's seat".In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Hagerty Insurance
I had such a problem with a AAA adjuster on the car I owned pre-Corvette that since I switched to State Farm I haven't had a thing written through AAA. Of course, I moved to PA at the time and they aren't there, so that also helped me switch. State Farm has been a dream to deal with compared to AAA.
I use AAA only for Road Hazard insurance and travel arrangements.
My 71 is insured through State Farm and I've never yet had a problem. I also keep regular appraisals of the car, all receipts and as much photo documentation as possible.

Re: Hagerty Insurance
Joe, I have an agreed value policy but I have to get an appraisal every now and then to keep the value updated on record. I have no mileage limits and I can get (with just a phone call) a reduction in my rate when I put it up for the winter----and it is still covered for fire and theft.

Apparently, your state's AAA is different than the one in California. The AAA organization is national, but the insurance operations are unique to the "member clubs". They vary widely, alrthough I didn't realize that any offered agreed value policies. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Hagerty Insurance
Hi Don,
Sounds like you've gotten many positive replies regarding Hagerty Insurance. I too have my Vette insured by them and the price was right. Fortunately, I have never had to make a claim and they were a pleasure to deal with in getting the policy written.
Thanks,

Re: Hagerty Insurance one more
I agree with Michael! I had a claim last year for a small fire and they had a check in my hand for the repairs within days without even an adjuster looking at the car. It took over a year to get some parts to replace burned ones and they reimbursed me without question. I have nothing but good things to say about them.
