Points dedcution for non-matching spare tire

Can anyone tell me what would result in fewer points deducted: 1) four repro tires (something "correct" from Coker, say, BF Goodrich) and an original spare, but the spare was made by a different tire manufacturer (Firestone); 2) five matching repro tires.

No deduct for a non-matching spare. I know the 70-72 guide states that explicitly. That's so you can find a set of 4 matching (whether original or repro) and not get deducted if they don't happen to match your original-from-day-one spare.

In addition, if you have 1 original-from-day-one spare and 4 non original BFGoodrich tires on a 72 (like me for Seven Springs) you can still keep some originality points AND get up to all for condition on the 4 never-installed-on-a-Vette brand.

You're better off points-wise to go this way. You'll get deducted a standard deduction amount (see your year's guide) for the spare if it's a repro too. If I had a BFG spare, for example, I'd likely lose all my tire points.
