I just got the title history for my '57 from the North Carolina Dept. of Transportation. I had thought this to be a daunting and futile pursuit. It takes a need/justification that satisfies one of about 14 stated exceptions to the privacy law. In my case it is a non-original engine that I would like to know the mileage since it was sold "as is" with no mileage indication.
I think that NC is one of the easiest states to do a title search in. I got the history of my '61 from day one to the day it went to Florida. Wish they were as easy. I have hunted the car for over 5 years with no luck. It is like the car disapeared from the face of the earth when it went to FL.
