    '72 LT-1 won't start

I just finished installing my intake manifold/distributor and my car will not start now. I also changed the heater hoses during this project. I don't even hear clicks coming from the starter. The battery is fully charged and all my accessories work. I had a mechanic take a look at it today and he foind no voltage coming to the starter. Where can I find the cause of my problem?

    Thanks!

Purple wire to the starter, comes from the ignition switch, through the Clutch switch or neutral safety switch and on to the starter. Check this first.

If 72's are like 71's you need to have the clutch pedal depressed for the starter to engage. Am I being to obvious????

Does anybody have a clear page of M248 in the '72 AIM. My copy is really bad, can't make much of anything out...I'm thinking it might be the ground.
I pulled my starter/solenoid and had it tested. They tested fine, the solenoid puts out 110 AMPS though...is that where it should be?
I checked the purple wire. Is this the one thats up by the clutch pedal? If so, that looks good.

When I say check it, I dont mean just look at it. I mean use a meter or test light and see if it has power on it. The switch puts power on it when you turn the switch to start, that goes through the clutch switch and on to the starter. Somehow it is not getting to the starter. Grounds have nothing to do with the operation of the starter. The starter case itself is grounded to the engine block. You can short from the large positive wire on the starter to the terminal with the purple wire and it will start if the starter is good. That will prove that the starter is good.
