Are 61 horns 441 and 442 date coded??

I was told that dating occured for 441s & 442s in the Spring of 1962.I have a
C-1 62 #6590 and I have no dates on mine.

In my article on dating in the Restorer, Vol. 26#4, page 25, I note in there that the earliest dated 441 or 442 that we hve noted is 2A2 (2nd week of January, '62) I have found cars built after that date with original undated horns--I believe all late-production 62's should be dated, Feb-through-April might be, and before that, they were not. There is a difference, by the way, between 61 and 62 horns, even though they had the same part number.

On the back side of the 62 horn, about 1/4" in from the outer circumference, are stamped raised reinforcing ribs. The 61's don't have those.
