Just ordered a new Exhaust manifold for the LHS of my 70 corvette. I have the upper and lower brackets for the alternator that connect to the water pump but what does the bracket look like that attaches to the alternator? I have a bracket that the bottom bolt goes through that allows it to swivel and then bolts to the lower arm. Is this the one that then attaches to the exhaust manifold? A photo of the bracket that attaches the alternator to the exhaust manifold would be great. Thnaks

It sounds like you have the correct lower alternator bracket. This bracket attaches to the exhaust manifold by 2 bolts----the long upper one that goes through the alternator mounting flange and a much shorter lower bolt.
The lower arm of the bracket attaches to the water pump mounting stud.
There was only one Corvette bracket, GM #3846565, that was configured like this.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C3 Alternator Bracket
The bracket that I have has only one hole that could attach to the manifold. The other hole is for the long bolt that the alternator swivels on and the other allow the lower arm to bolt to the bracket. Not sure it is the right bracket, especially if it is supposed to attach to the alternator in two places. Is their a refernce number anywhere that I could ust to look this bracket up?- Top

Re: C3 Alternator Bracket

If you will note, there are 3 holes in the bracket. The first one is on the lower leg of the bracket arm and attaches to the water pump mounting stud.
Then, there are 2 holes on the upper portion of the bracket. These holes are "offset" The hole which is furthest from the engine together with the boss on the exhaust manifold form the "recess" into which the alternator mounting boss fits. A long bolt goes through the mounting bracket hole, the hole in the alternator mounting boss, and then threads into the top hole on the exhaust manifold boss.
The bottom or lower hole on the bracket fits directly against the exhaust manifold front boss. A short bolt threads into the lower threaded hole on the exhaust manifold and retains the bracket at this point.
The bracket, itself, was installed at the engine plant; the alternator and curved brace was installed at St. Louis.
A drawing of the assembly can be found on UPC 6, Sheet A2 of your 1970 assembly instruction manual. Although the bracket installation is not shown in the AIM (because it was installed at the engine plant, not St. Louis), enough of the assembly is shown to clearly indicate the configuration of the bracket and how it mounts. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
