Re: c2-windshields ,polishing
I have polished a few windsheilds useing jewels rouge and the standard
3 1/2" felt buffer wheel, small scratches come out fairly easy but deep ones have to be buffed way past the damage, case in point
I had a 75 corvette at dealer getting brakes serviced when they drove it thru the service door with the master cylinder removed, beside the body damage they had the windsheild polished to remove a deep scratch from the headlight door being dragged across it.
It looked good,I was shocked that it came out,
but a few weeks later it rained and the wipers didn't touch the water in the valleys left from polishing,so they replaced it.
I did polish some deep ones out of drivers door glass on a 58 ,but did a large 1/4 of the glass to keep from leaveing any low spots.
hope this helps

Re: c2-windshields ,polishing
Frank - interesting dealer destrucition story....I heard another one here in Tucson years back of a vette owned by a guy in the corvette club where they lifted his car into the roof, results were roof=1, Corvette=0. Crushed the top and windshield...now wouldn't that just make your day. What amazed me, was there was a situation and a Cherolet dealership where they even had a lift installed in an area where a ceiling was in proximity to a car with the lift at full height...geesh...Craig- Top
