    L-71 smog pump adapter asm.

Does anybody know of a supplier that carries this part? The part # is 3955222 . It goes in between the A.I.R pump and the diverter valve on 69 tri-power engines. Any info would be helpful. Thank you

    Trebor----

The adapter which you seek, GM #3955222, was used ONLY in 1969 for L68 and L71 engines. It was discontinued from service about 1980. It will be an extremely difficult part to locate. I would try Crane's Corvette in San Diego, CA (619)514-8388, Greenhoes Corvette (330)723-0899, Tracy Performance 800-UCTRACY, or Paragon Vintage (810)655-4641. If all of these sources don't pan out, then you'll have to call on the "court of last resort" with respect to rare Corvette parts---J.T. Piper's Corvette Specialties located in Vermillion, IL (217) 275-3742. From any of these sources, expect to pay a king's ransom IF they have what you're after. In the case of the "court of last resort", just make sure you're lying down and heavily sedated before you ask about price on a part like this.

In addition to Joe's suggestions, let me add Bill Hodel. My 69 tripower car had no smog system at all when I bought it. I purchased a COMPLETE correct dated system from Bill--literally every nut, bolt, and hose. The cost for the entire system was $950.00. He advertises in Hemmings, etc. If you can't find his number, E Mail me and I'll get it for you. Hope this helps. Chuck
