    C-2 muncie

My 63 coupe with muncie tranny has the following numbers that i can see, #3925661,#3088336, and on the tail #3857584,it is a close ratio 4-speed.previous owner did say it was not original, but would like to know what it is from,i have no speedometer cable for it at this time and was wondering if i could get one to fit or have to have one made for it,any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

The main case is a 71-74. The extension housing is a 65-70. So, the transmission is likely made-up from different components. It's hard to say what's in the case. However, since it has the 65-70 extension housing, the mainshaft has to be a 65-70 style with 26 splines. The gearset would have to be a 1966-74 style in order to fit in the maincase you have.

I think that an available speedometer cable could be obtained to service this application, even though the speedometer fitting on the extension housing that you have is on the opposite side from what the original 63 extension housing would have had. A 65-67 cable might work ok.
