For me, it's not the noise of the N-14 that bothers me (although, it likely would get annoying on a long road trip that I am wont to use Corvettes for). For me, I think that the shape of the Corvette body, whther we're talking 65-67 or 69, is so perfect and beautiful, that anything that disrupts the lines is "criminal". In my opinion, side pipes disrupt the lines and amount to "tacked-on" looking contraptions---they just don't "fit" with the Corvette body. They've always reminded me of the "lake pipes" that hot-rodders used to install on "chopped and channeled" early 50's Mercs and Fords.
