    1967 327/300 hp valve covers

    Hi,

I would like to know the correct valve covers for a 67 327/300hp motor. I have asked several sources and half say the stamped steel with a retangle in the middle to accept the engine decal and half say stamped steel with the word corvette molded across the top. Can you help!!! Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you!

    Hi Mr. Papa!

(I actually have the car in question)

1967 base engine valve covers are the same as 1961 - stamped steel with raised "Chevrolet" script . LH valve cover has small welded-on clips to hold the temp wire sender. No decals/painted highlights on cover. I would expect to pay $30 for a "used" set and perhaps $100 for a perfect (undented)pair (I paid $55 for NOS left last year)

        Carl,

You mentioned the 1961 valve covers. Are the 1967 valve covers identical to these? I remember reading (in Dobbins, perhaps) that the 1967 Corvette base motor valve covers were unique to that application. If there are any differences (that you know of) I'd like to know what they are (I've got the 350hp covers on my 300hp, but I'll probably change over this year). I remember seeing some (decent) sets last year at Corvettes at Carlisle for $35 or so.

        Thanks, John R.
