67 - L79 Aluminum Intake / Valve Covers Rsto

How do I get my original Aluminum Intake and Valve covers to look factory fresh? Do I paint the intake? If so what paint do I use? How do I clean the valve covers. Mine are a little mottled and have a glossier finish to them than many of the restored or repro covers I have looked at. Mine are originals.

I used phosfuric acid diluted with water with a scotch brite pad and worked them until clean, the correct sheen...I was very happy with the as cast look of them. You must be very very careful. after about a year they even look better, they have patina, and I like that
