wiper not working

hi:

rebuilt motor, after reinstalling motor wipers not working.
when i turn on wipers i can hear a clicking sound in the wiper motor.

check the ground connection, a commmon problem.

make sure the wiper switch is plugged in correctly run into this more than once only my 2 cents worth Steve

I had my 65 wiper motor rebuilt a while ago since I am in the process of restoring. The motor was powered up about three weeks ago after a long period in a box. When the switch was turn on all I got was a clicking noise. I checked everthing from ground continuity, switch, to connections. Still just a click. The rebuilder said to check the ground. It was AOK. He was concerned since the motor sat for a period of time without operations. This motors he said are very primative if not run on a somewhat regular basis.

The fix was to remove the unit from the car and send it back to the rebuilder. Apparently, the internal contacts, brushes, amature etc can corrode limiting contact. Also the end play was readjusted to loose it up abit. I have since reinstalled the motor and it purrs like a champ. I hope this helps!
