can anyone tell me about the build date number that is F052ISA? It is a 327 from the 62 thru 67 era by the casting number of 3782870. Also, were there any silver interiors in the 64 that the exterior color was silverblue(912AA)? and is there anyway to find an original build sheet or how and where it came from and eqipped by the dealer? Car id # is 40837S103603

Re: C2 serial #?
3782870 was used from 62 to 64 on all 327's. Please check the pad again as the SA in F0521SA is in question. F=Flint 05 = May 21 = 21st day. SA = ??(possibly passanger car, According to the WEB site you car was built about October 25, 1963. The PAD F0521SA is after the date.

Re: C2 serial #?
Silver interior did come in that color, your suffix code of SA is from a full size car engine 327 with powerglide and AC assembled at flint on 5/21, there is no build sheet for your car, someone would have to given you paperwork with car. But you can easily deduce what engine came in our car if there is any remnants of original parts. Your VIN should mst likely have an engine assembled in late September or early October 1963...Dino Lanno- Top

Re: C2 serial #?
Thank you for the response! is there a place on the car that would match the engine? say the frame or something of the like? if so, where would i find it? This motor does have a carter carb as original ,but the taqch drive distributor is not on the car either, but the car itself has never been hit . the interior is blue vinyl as per trim number 490BA. how do i find out how is was equipped? is it possible?- Top

Re: C2 serial #?
What is the total engine stamp pad read, and what is the casting date on the rear of the block
Should read F1001RE 4103601, with a cast date of j233, these are approximations of made up dates that are within reasonable expectations of your vin
They translate Flint block assembled Oct 1 327 365 hp car, 1964 car with vin 3601 which was assembled in StLouis around October 25, 1963, the casting date of the block reads Septmeber 23, 1963
so you cast the block.... you assemble the engine.... you put in a car....it all makes sense?Dino Lanno- Top

Re: C2 serial #?
Scott:
Make sure the block is a "Flint" (Saginaw) 870, and NOT a Tonowanda block, which were not installed in Corvettes. The Flint 870 was used in Corvettes from 1962 thru 1965.
The Flint block will have a one digit year cast date, a T block will have a two digit year. Also, A F block will have a 1/4" square head plug near the water pump mount boss, while the T block will not.
