    chrome plating for C1

Anyone have a recommendation on a chrome plater. Live in the Branson, MO area
(about 4 hours south of Kansas City or 4 hours west of St. Louis. Would like to hear from someone who has actually had the plating done at the recommended facility rather than hearsay, thanks.

I used "Martins of Philadelphia" for plating a '54 radiator expansion tank and they did a marvelous job including the filler neck underside. They are not cheap, but it's worth every penny to have it done right the first time.
    Good luck, Kent

Paul's chrome plating evans city pa(near pittsburg airport on I-79)
has been doing my chrome work since 1980--he's done at least 15 vets and antiques and I'd guess he has done about 2500 individual pieces. His policy is : send him the parts, he photographs the labeled parts, sends copy of photo and estimate. If you agree on the estimate, send signed agreement and he proceeds. turnaround time depends on the time of the year- 2 to 6 wks is typical. If you receive the parts and aren't completely satisfied, return it and he replates it till you are satisfied. of all the 2500 pieces i have sent him, only two have been sent back--a pair of 57 vet tail lites which are notoriously difficult to plate back near the lense. he did the pair a total of three times before i was satisfied. no hassle.Owners first name is fred and he is honorable. Good luck, mike

PS .By all means , avoid Paul of Carmichael, Pa. He did the bumpers on my 50 olds at half the price of Pauls of evans city BUT a year later the chrome began to pit. Now the bumpers are so bad, i doubt paul of evans city would take on the job of re-replating them . Ya git what ya pay for , as the old man used to say. Mike
