C1 rear axle shafts (posi vs nonposi)

I am going to install a positraction unit in a 58 which currently has a non-posi installation. I understand that in order to make this conversion, I need to install posi axle shafts as there is a difference between posi and non-posi axles. Question: what is the difference? Are the shafts different in length? I know there is a different bearing and axle bearing flange used. Is the difference only in the axle bearing and flange? I have a 57 chevy with positraction and the axles in this housing have a deep bearing flange versus a shallow flange for my 58's non-posi axle. Can I simply use the 57 posi axles in the Vette?

You can use your 58 axles with the posi unit but not the 57 chevy axles because of the wider bearing and cover. It's the Bango housing ends that determine the bearing used. It's not only are the posi bango baffles different but the bango ends holding the bearing which are wider.
